(Note: this will take you to a new page) Dougal Adams has been playing Irish and Scottish traditional music for over 20 years on the Irish wooden flute and various types of Scottish bagpipes, including Highland, Border and Scottish small pipes. He is well respected in the traditional music scene in Australia and regularly travels to Ireland and Scotland. During his visits to Ireland he has performed live for Irish television and radio and he has on several occasions participated in the traditional music summer school at Willie Clancy week in County Clare, Ireland. Dougal has been a member of various Celtic bands in Western Australia, including "Crooked Road", "Gan Ainm", and "The big Fling" and has guested with many others, including Devils on Horseback. In addition, he has played on numerous recordings, including albums for Devils on Horseback, Kelly Newton Wordsworth, Lynn Hazelton and most recently David Hyams' "Miles to Go". He has been involved in giving various workshops on flute and bagpipes for Comhaltas Ceoltori Eirean and also at Fairbridge Festival. At the 2003 Fremantle Fleadh, he was one of the state's featured performers in both the Irish and Scottish concerts. |
